The MATAO Event Centre is a beautifully restored, one of a kind, fully outfitted facility, able to accommodate all technical and production needs to make any event spectacular! This venue hosts live events and produces weekly entertainment for the public. The MATAO Event Centre is fully licensed and has it's own cantina of snacks & hot food. Corporate rentals are available for retreats, meetings, seminars & conferences. Private group rentals are also available for socials, weddings, anniversaries or large special events. The building can facilitate up to 160 guests. An outdoor patio, stage and green space will be available during the summer months.

Welcome to, THE MATAO EVENT CENTRE!
By purchasing a ticket, attending an event, or entering the premises, all guests agree to the following legally binding Terms & Conditions.
1. RIGHT OF ADMISSION & SECURITY SCREENING
Admission to the premises is conditional upon compliance with all venue policies.
All persons entering the premises are subject to mandatory security procedures, which may include:
• Bag inspection
• Government-issued photo ID verification
• Electronic ID scanning
• Metal detection screening
• Physical inspection where deemed necessary.
Refusal to comply with security procedures will result in denied entry and immediate removal without refund. The venue reserves the absolute right, at its sole discretion, to refuse admission or remove any individual for conduct deemed unsafe, unlawful, disruptive, intoxicated, or inconsistent with venue policies.
2. TICKETING TERMS
2.1 Authorized Sales
Tickets are available exclusively through:
• The venue’s official website; or
• Direct purchase by phone through the venue office at 204-297-9987.
The venue is not responsible for tickets purchased through unauthorized sellers or third-party resale platforms. Guests assume all risk associated with such purchases.
2.2 Ticket Pickup
All online and phone purchases are held at the door and will not be mailed.
• Tickets are available for pickup one (1) hour prior to showtime.
• Only the original purchaser may collect the tickets.
• The name on the order must match valid government-issued photo ID.
Tickets are non-transferable unless authorized in writing - prior to by the venue.
2.3 Final Sale Policy
All ticket sales are final.
No refunds, exchanges, credits, or transfers will be issued under any circumstances, including but not limited to:
• Scheduling conflicts
• Personal reasons
• Weather conditions
• Performer substitutions
A $2.50 service fee applies per ticket for all online or phone purchases. Service fees are non-refundable.
3. EVENT MODIFICATIONS & FORCE MAJEURE
The venue reserves the right to cancel, postpone, reschedule, or suspend events at its sole discretion.
The venue shall not be liable for delays, cancellations, or interruptions resulting from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:
• Acts of God
• Public health orders
• Government regulations
• Weather events
• Labor disputes
• Technical failures
Remedies, if any, shall be determined solely by the venue or event organizer.
4. WRISTBAND POLICY
All admitted guests will be issued a wristband.
Wristbands must be worn at all times while on the premises.
Any guest found without a valid wristband, wearing a damaged wristband, or tampering with a wristband will be removed immediately without refund.
5. MINORS
All minors must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
The venue reserves the right to request proof of age at any time.
6. ALCOHOL SERVICE COMPLIANCE
Alcohol service is conducted in accordance with The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act (Manitoba) and regulations administered by the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba (LGCA).
The venue reserves the right to:
• Request valid government-issued photo identification
• Refuse alcohol service to any person
• Remove any intoxicated individual
• Enforce maximum occupancy limits
• Comply with all LGCA-mandated service standards
It is unlawful for minors to purchase, possess, or consume alcohol. Any violation will result in removal and reporting to authorities.
Guests who appear intoxicated upon arrival may be denied entry without refund.
7. PROHIBITED ITEMS & ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY
The following are strictly prohibited:
• Illegal drugs or controlled substances
• Pets, animals, weapons of any kind
• Outside food, drinks or alcohol
• Aggressive, threatening, or harassing conduct
• Vandalism or property damage
The venue maintains a zero-tolerance policy for illegal activity.
Violators will be:
• Removed immediately without refund
• Permanently banned
• Reported to law enforcement
8. SMOKING & VAPING
Smoking and vaping are not prohibited inside the building. Such activities are permitted only outside on the public sidewalk, no less than twenty-six (26) feet from all doors in accordance with bylaw regulations. Failure to comply may result in removal.
9. PARKING DISCLAIMER
There is no designated on-site parking for guests.
Fenced parking areas are reserved exclusively for authorized staff and performers.
The venue assumes no responsibility for:
• Off-site parking
• Ticketed or Towed vehicles
• Theft or damage to vehicles
10. VIDEO SURVEILLANCE & RECORDING NOTICE
Security cameras and video surveillance systems operate throughout the premises.
By entering the venue, guests consent to:
• Video monitoring and recording
• Use of recorded footage for security, legal, and operational purposes
The venue reserves the right to use photographs or video recordings taken during events for promotional purposes without compensation.
11. PRIVACY & PERSONAL INFORMATION
The venue collects limited personal information for the purposes of:
• Ticket processing
• Age verification
• Security screening
• Legal compliance
Information may include:
• Name
• Contact information
• Government-issued ID data
• Purchase history
Personal information is handled in accordance with:
• The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)
• Applicable Manitoba privacy legislation
Information is not sold to third parties. Data may be disclosed where required by law. By purchasing a ticket or entering the premises, guests consent to the collection, use, and retention of personal information for these purposes.
12. ASSUMPTION OF RISK & LIABILITY WAIVER
By entering the premises, guests voluntarily assume all risks associated with attendance, including but not limited to:
• Exposure to high-volume audio
• Strobe lighting and fog effects
• Crowded conditions
• Slips, trips, and falls
• Actions of other patrons
To the fullest extent permitted by law, guests release and hold harmless:
• The venue
• Its owners, directors, employees, contractors, performers, and affiliates
from any and all claims, liability, damages, losses, or expenses arising from attendance, except where caused by gross negligence as defined by applicable law.
Attendance is at the guest’s own risk.
13. SEATING & ENTRY
Unless otherwise stated, events are rush seating (general admission).
Doors typically open 60–90 minutes prior to event start time.
Entry times are subject to change without notice.
14. AGREEMENT
By purchasing a ticket or entering the premises, guests acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
